This appeal is from a judgment in a tort suit and a judgment in a worker's compensation suit, both instituted by the plaintiff, John Royer, in which the appellant, Cliffs Drilling Company, Inc., is a party. The cases have been consolidated on appeal to consider the issues presented by Cliffs, as intervenor in the tort suit and as defendant in the worker's compensation suit.
