Plaintiffs seek recovery from defendant bridge contractor for purely economic loss incurred due to the alleged nonintentional harm to a bridge, which resulted in its closing. The bridge served as an artery of commerce to those claiming the loss. Plaintiffs had no ownership in the bridge, sustained no physical injury or damage to their property or person, and had no contractual arrangement with the alleged wrongdoer.
