This appeal raises a single issue, namely, whether the trial court abused its discretion in denying the defendant's motion for a continuance. We find no error.

In November, 1982, the plaintiff filed an action seeking dissolution of her marriage to the defendant. At that time the defendant was represented by private counsel. On April 18, 1983, the defendant's attorney filed a motion to withdraw as counsel...
