Walter Thomas Bolt (defendant) was convicted by a jury of sale of marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana and conspiracy. The court of appeals affirmed. State v. Bolt, 142 Ariz. 284, 689 P.2d 543 (App. 1983). Defendant raised four issues before the court of appeals but only a single issue was raised in the petition for review filed in this court:
