In this adversary proceeding, the plaintiff, Susan I. Barto, is the former wife of the debtor/defendant, Barry Lee Bowers. She has filed a complaint against the debtor, alleging that a debt owed to her by the debtor is nondischargeable pursuant to section 523(a)(5) of the Bankruptcy Code, 11 U.S.C. § 523(a)(5), because the debt is actually in the nature of alimony.
