Defendant Michael Alan Schubert appeals from his conviction in a bench trial for possession of a firearm as a felon in violation of Iowa Code section 724.26 (1981). He contends: 1) that the investigatory stop of a van in which he was riding was constitutionally impermissible and that evidence obtained as a result of the stop and search of the van should have been suppressed; and 2) that statements made by him while in custody were obtained in violation...
