On February 15, 1983, at approximately 9 a.m., defendants operated snowmobiles eastbound on the south shoulder of M-94 in Alger County, traveling single file in the direction of the flow of traffic. For so doing, they were issued citations for violating MCL 257.1512; MSA 9.3200(12). Defendants pled not guilty in letters to the district court.
