Harenberg appeals from a jury verdict convicting him of a series of felony and misdemeanor offenses. Harenberg was found guilty of having violated four separate federal statutes: (1) 18 U.S.C. § 371, which prohibits conspiring to impede the United States in its collection of income taxes; (2) 26 U.S.C. § 7206(1), which prohibits the filing of a false tax return; (3) 18 U.S.C. § 656 (seven counts), which prohibits the misapplication...
