The plaintiffs, Rayburn Hale, Jr., and his wife, Patricia J. Upton Hale, brought suit against Mehdi Sheikholeslam, M.D., and Fannin County Hospital, alleging medical malpractice by Dr. Sheikholeslam while he had staff privileges at Fannin County Hospital. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the plaintiffs, holding Dr. Sheikholeslam and the defendant hospital jointly and severally liable. The federal district court entered judgment on the...
