In these consolidated suits, plaintiffs appealed a judgment rejecting their demands against General Motors Corporation ("GM") for damages allegedly sustained as the result of an explosion which occurred when a 16" tire was mounted on a 16&frac12'" GM rim. Specified as error was the trial judge's conclusion that the accident was due to plaintiffs' negligence.

For the reasons hereinafter explained, we reverse and render judgment...
