William Edwards (defendant) was charged with armed robbery in violation of La.R.S. 14:64, two counts of aggravated rape in violation of La.R.S. 14:42 and aggravated crime against nature in violation of La.R.S. 14:89.1. He pled not guilty. After a jury trial, defendant was found guilty as charged on each count. He was sentenced as follows on each conviction: armed robbery (Count 1)—ninety-nine (99) years at hard labor without benefit of parole...
