This case arises out of a decision of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC) in December 1982 to discharge appellant Michael R. McCauley from his position as systems analyst for FHLMC. McCauley brought an action in the District Court seeking $4.5 million in damages for breach of contract and deprivation of due process in violation of the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution.
