JONES, Justice.

Defendant was convicted by a district court jury of child neglect as defined in ORS 163.545. The Court of Appeals reversed because it found no substantial evidence to support the verdict. State v. Goff, 66 Or.App. 695, 675 P.2d 1093 (1984). We allowed the state's petition for review and reverse the holding of the Court of Appeals, thus reinstating the judgment of conviction...
