Defendants appeal from the summary judgment of the Wayne County Circuit Court which held that a one-year residency requirement for police and fire applicants was unconstitutional as violative of the right to travel. The provision was locally adopted as part of the Michigan police and fire civil service act, MCL 38.510(1); MSA 5.3360(1). We affirm the circuit court and hold that it is not constitutional...
