DOMENGEAUX, Judge.

The defendant, Glenn Earl Bessard, was charged by a bill of information with the crime of attempted first degree murder, a violation of La.R.S. 14:27 and 14:30.

On February 17, 1983, a written plea of not guilty was entered by defendant's retained counsel, and on April 27-29 the defendant was tried before a twelve person jury and found guilty as charged by a 10-2 vote.
