Defendant Richard Dillon appeals from the district court's denial of his petition for writ of habeas corpus. While we affirm that court's refusal to hold an evidentiary hearing and its finding that the state trial judge's imposition of the death sentence complied with Indiana law, we disagree with the court's conclusion that Dillon received effective assistance of counsel under the Sixth Amendment....
