Defendant, found guilty of simple battery, a violation of La.R.S. 14:35, was sentenced to pay a fine of $500.00 plus costs and to serve six months in the Parish jail; the sentence was suspended and defendant was placed on supervised probation for eighteen months, conditioned upon his serving 20 days in the Parish jail, paying $400.00 of the fine plus costs and making full restitution to the victim for any medical expenses incurred as a result of the...
