Phillip Bell Watkins was indicted for robbery in the first degree in violation of § 13A-8-41, Code of Alabama 1975. He entered a plea of not guilty to the charge and his case was consolidated with that of his co-defendant, Annie L. Hampton. On the day of trial, the appellant's case was severed from that of the co-defendant and the appellant entered a plea of guilty to robbery in the second degree, pursuant to a plea bargain agreement.
