Pinta Lou Bray was charged with the crime of arson after she voluntarily confessed to having set fire to a couch and a mattress in a halfway house. In her confession she stated that she had set the fire to get even with one of the supervisors of the halfway house. A jury found her guilty of the lesser included offense of criminal mischief in the first degree and she was sentenced to a term of four years in the Department of Correction. On appeal she...
