Petitioner Robert Walker is a state prisoner currently serving a fifty-year sentence in the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola based upon his adjudication as a recidivist. Following his jury conviction in 1975 for attempted simple burglary, the state relied on three prior convictions to enhance the penalty. Having exhausted his state court remedies, Walker filed a petition for federal habeas corpus relief pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254...
