The defendant, Daniel Ray Dixon, was charged by grand jury indictment with aggravated rape in violation of La.R.S. 14:42 and attempted second degree murder in violation of La.R.S. 14:27 and 30.1. He pled not guilty to both charges and, after a trial by jury, was found guilty of attempted aggravated rape and attempted second degree murder.
