Defendant, Earnest Davis, was charged with three counts of armed robbery in violation of La.R.S. 14:64. Defendant originally pled not guilty. On the first day of trial, the jury was selected and sworn. The next day, defendant, represented by retained counsel, informed the court he wished to plead guilty. After a Boykin examination, the trial court allowed defendant to withdraw his not guilty plea and accepted his guilty plea. On June 15, 1983...
