Lewis Jones, Jr., defendant/appellant, appeals from convictions of robbery (K.S.A. 21-3426) and kidnapping (K.S.A. 21-3420). A jury trial was conducted on March 28, 1983. The defendant was sentenced under the habitual criminal statute to a term of not less than 45 years to life on the kidnapping charge, and not less than 15 years nor more than 60 years on the robbery charge.
