MOTLEY, Chief Judge.

Plaintiff Thelma Lyda has brought this action under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000e et seq. (1976), alleging discrimination on the basis of race and sex with respect to the termination of her employment. Lyda, who is black, was a resident of Illinois at all times relevant to this litigation. In 1963, Lyda was hired as a "sales assistant" by WLS-TV in Chicago...
