Robert J. Hunt applied for disability insurance benefits in July of 1982, claiming that he was disabled by hip injuries sustained in a fall at work. His application was denied initially and upon reconsideration. At Hunt's request, an evidentiary hearing was conducted before an administrative law judge (ALJ) on January 13, 1983.
