Plaintiff, City of Lafayette, instituted this expropriation suit against defendant, Solange Sue Dore, to obtain a necessary portion of defendant's front yard for the construction of a four-lane highway. The trial court granted plaintiff's expropriation and awarded defendant compensation for the land and improvements, and severance damages.
