JUSTICE HEIPLE delivered the opinion of the court:

The defendant-appellant, Allen Fitzpatrick, was convicted of driving while license suspended and disobeying a stop sign following a jury trial. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 95 1/2, pars. 6-303, 11-1204(b).) He was sentenced by the circuit court of Peoria County to serve 14 days in the county jail and to pay a $3 fine. The defendant appeals.
