James Michael Bennett was charged in a single bill of information with three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, marijuana, contrary to the provisions of LSA-R.S. 40:966. He was subsequently convicted by a jury of two counts of distribution of marijuana and one count of attempted distribution of marijuana.
