On March 23, 1984, the defendant Daniel Singer was arrested for D.W.I. He was advised of his rights as per a standard form adopted and distributed by the Louisiana Department of Public Safety. Singer submitted to a photo-electric intoximeter test, which registered a blood alcohol reading in excess of .10 percent. On April 3rd, Singer was arraigned and pled not guilty.
