The defendant, James P. Tomlinson, III, was charged by bill of information with committing forgery in violation of La.R.S. 14:72 by issuing or transferring an instrument which he knew to be forged. The defendant was convicted following a nonjury trial and sentenced to five years at hard labor. On appeal to the Court of Appeal for the Second Circuit the conviction and sentence were affirmed.
