Following a fire on the leased premises on May 13, 1981, Howard Motors, Inc., the original lessee, filed suit against their lessors, James E. Beeson and Sam Gattuso, for money damages. The basis for lessee's claim was the lessors' alleged breach of the lease agreement by their failure to repair the damages caused by the fire.
