Plaintiff, Ms. Adela Gonzales, was injured when a twist-type aluminum sealing cap on a bottle of Schweppes Bitter Lemon "flew off" and struck her in the eye. Through her father, the administrator of her estate, Ms. Gonzales brought a products liability action alleging strict liability and negligence against Louisiana Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Inc. (La. Coke) and Schweppes U.S.A., Ltd. and the same allegations against Aluminum Company of America...
