Defendant, Eddie J. Naquin, was charged by bill of information with attempted forcible rape in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:27, 14:42.1. On July 13, 1983, the defendant was arraigned and entered a plea of not guilty. Trial before a 12-person jury commenced August 24, 1983.
