The issue before us is whether a city may, by subsequent legislation, impair or reduce benefits to which employees retired for disability are entitled under the pension ordinances in effect at the time of their retirement. The trial court held that the right of the retired employees became vested at the time of their retirement in accordance with the provisions of law in effect at that time, and that these benefits could not be impaired or reduced...
