Plaintiff's original complaint alleged the following:
On or about 19 February 1979 a warehouse belonging to plaintiff Coastal Chemical Corporation (hereafter Coastal), and the goods therein, were destroyed by fire. The warehouse was protected by a security system which was programmed to call various authorities in the event fire or smoke was detected by its sensors.
