The principal issue in this case is the admissibility into evidence of certain items seized, on a suspicion of arson, during a belated warrantless search of burnt-out premises. The defendant, Frederick Schonagel, is appealing from his conviction, after a jury trial, of conspiracy to commit arson in the second degree in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-48 (a) and 53a-112 (a) (1) (B) (2).
