After a bench trial, defendants (Chicago police officers) were convicted of involuntary manslaughter and official misconduct. Klisz was sentenced to an extended term of eight years for the former and five years for the latter, the sentences to run concurrently, and Earullo was sentenced to concurrent terms of 2 1/2 years for each offense.
