In 1979 defendant was named in a 15-count indictment which charged him and another with various violations of the scheme-to-defraud statutes (18 U.S.C. §§ 1341, 1342 and 2). It was alleged that the victims were defrauded of more than one million dollars. The defendant pled guilty to counts 8, 13 and 15.
