The defendant, Robert P. Jennings, appeals from judgments of conviction entered on a two-count indictment after a jury trial in the Providence County Superior Court. Count 1 of the indictment charged the defendant with murdering one Robert Cappelli on November 4, 1979, in violation of G.L. 1956 (1969 Reenactment) § 11-23-1. Count 2 charged the defendant with possession of a firearm while committing a crime of violence...
