This is an action for breach of contract. The plaintiff, Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated ("Merrill Lynch"), a stock brokerage firm, employed the defendant, Mr. de Liniere, as an account executive in Atlanta. At the beginning of his employment, Mr. de Liniere signed an Account Executive Trainee Agreement that underlies the present dispute.
