The plaintiffs Hyatt and Helen Messmore appeal the trial court's decision granting the defendant Monarch Machine Tool Co.'s motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict.

On February 4, 1977, Hyatt Messmore was injured while operating a lathe manufactured by Monarch. Hyatt suffered severe injuries to his head, rendering him permanently brain-damaged with traumatic epilepsy.
