The principal question in this case is the extent to which the Connecticut policy against the enforcement of gambling debts serves to shield a debtor from his obligation to pay checks issued in a foreign country where such debts are not illegal. The plaintiff, The Casanova Club, brought an action against the defendant, Victor H. Bisharat, the drawer of nine dishonored checks in the total amount of 6350£....
