Defendant-appellant Mancil Wallace was convicted of Rape While Armed with a Deadly Weapon, Ind. Code § 35-42-4-1 (Burns Repl. 1979) at the conclusion of a jury trial in Elkhart Superior Court on August 12, 1981. Wallace was also found to be a habitual offender.
