Defendant was indicted for murder in causing the death of a human being by shooting her with a pistol, and in a separate count for the possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. As to the murder count he was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter and also convicted of the possession of a firearm (pistol) by a convicted felon.
