The defendants, Fred and Rose Franklin, were charged by a joint bill of information with the crime of receiving stolen things valued over One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), specifically, fifty pounds of boned catfish filets, and twenty-four cans of frozen orange juice, in violation of La.R.S. 14:69.1 The defendants were tried jointly before a six member jury and were found guilty of receiving stolen things having a value...
