This case involves the violation of plaintiff's constitutional rights by the Sheriff of Harris County, Texas, defendant in this action, who failed to release plaintiff from prison after he was no-billed by a grand jury. Trial was held before a jury on January 20-22, 1982. This court directed a verdict for plaintiff on the issue of defendant's liability, Williams v. Heard,
