OPINION BY JUDGE CRAIG, November 22, 1983:

Claimant David H. Greenwood appeals an order of the Department of Military Affairs denying state benefits for a substantial back injury sustained in the line of duty while on annual two-week encampment with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in 1975. At that time, state military benefits were governed by section 844 of The Military Code of 1949.
