In a jury trial, John Bolla was convicted of aggravated kidnaping for ransom (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1981, ch. 38, par. 10-2(a)(1)) and conspiracy to commit theft by threat (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1981, ch. 38, par. 8-2(a)). He was sentenced to concurrent prison terms of eight years for the aggravated kidnaping and two years for the conspiracy.
