A district court jury returned a verdict finding defendant Joseph Nathan Givens guilty of murder in the third degree, criminal sexual conduct in the second degree, kidnapping, and aggravated robbery, based upon events occurring in the early morning hours of October 16, 1980. What occurred on this early morning was the robbery, sexual assault, and murder of Maggie Stadsvold, and the robbery and kidnapping of Thomas Michaelson. Three young black males...
