The defendant was charged with sexual assault in the second degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-71 (a) (3),1 and with incest, in violation of General Statutes § 53a-191 (a).2 Tried before a jury in November, 1980, the defendant was acquitted of the crime of incest but found guilty of sexual assault in the second degree.
